I currently work as a communications and marketing consultant for an organisation, mainly collaborating with numerous teams across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Europe. I execute some projects, advise on others, and am training many colleagues.
It is a position that requires an ability to self-organise well; communicate in multicultural settings with sensitivity; be updated on digital safety and consent issues; and have expertise on numerous types of campaigns across multiple channels, to connect with very different audiences.
My campaigns cover Facebook, Google, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, email, LINE, and more. TikTok in particular was new to me, but I was able to pivot fast based on other relevant experiences.

Developed and led social media campaigns driving attendance to public events. Wrote online communications policy focusing on Malaysian copyright law and privacy-first principles. Managed public video archives, own-channel marketing, and newsletters. Edited text for print and web.

Built the largest social media following for any dedicated arts or civil society entity in Malaysia, reputable for accuracy, non-partisan content, and successfully amplifying minority and marginalised voices within a conservative national landscape. Developed strategic partnership programmes with media, government agencies, NGOs in various fields. Facilitated exchanges between various arts communities and audiences on a national and regional level.
